NPARC Meeting notes: Monday, September 11,2017

Location: NP Senior Center/Decorso Center, E. 4th St., New Providence, NJ.

                 We welcome back Scott, AB2WF, who became a club member.

1. W2PTP, President, called the meeting to order at 8PM. 

   A) Fox Hunt. TCRA is planning a fox hunt. They have invited us to partake in this activity. It has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 20, 2018 in order
      to allow time to develop and build antennas and attenuators. Members were encouraged to start thinking of partnering with a club member
      to form teams of two for the fox hunt.

   B) Club Project- Plan is to start building the "Magic Box" tester kits in October. Several club members have ordered kits so far. AE2JP has published the link on the reflector 
      through which the kits can be ordered. AE2JP will assist those in need of help with some minor SMT soldering and KA2MPG sent a post to the club reflector
      of some links to tutorial videos on Youtube about soldering surface mount components.  
      Some supplies needed: toothbrush, ethyl alcohol and acid brushes.
      Please relay inquiries regarding this project to AE2JP directly or via the reflector. 
   
   C) Holiday Luncheon: The Chimney Rock Restaurant in Gillette is reserved for Saturday, December 2. Reserve the date!

2. Presentation: K2AL, KC2ONL, AB2WF, K2UI, W2IOC, K2GLS and K2JV each spoke about their experiences and gave travelogues of their observing the Great American Total Eclipse. 
                 The talks were accompanied by photographs and videos of the eclipse and of the trips to Illinois, Tennessee, Oregon and South Carolina. 
Meeting was over at 9:00 PM local time.
