We welcomed KA2PBT, Rob Roschewsk, who is running for NNJ Section Manager. Rob gave a slideshow with his biographical information and highlights of his endeavours with motivating young hams to develop their engineering, technical and maker skills. We will be receiving ballots in the regular mail on April 1st for the NNJ SM election. 2. N2AUG renewed his club membership for 2017...thank you. 3. KD2JRI, Billy Malone, joined the club. Welcome, Billy. 4. W2PTP reviewed the NPARC Auction that took place last Friday, February 24: A. There were 74 attendees which was more than previous years. Last year's attendance was in mid 50's. B. 73 items were auctioned and sold vs. 25 items last year. There were 20 successful sellers and 3 not successful sellers. C. Club made $587.94 overall after expenses ($49.94 was made on food). D. K2JV commented on the excellent quality of the food and we thanked KC2OSR for his efforts in obtaining the food. 5. K2GLS, VP, was appointed to be the point person to reach out to any members who have trouble driving to our club meetings so we can offer assistance where viable. 6. The March 13 meeting will include a presentation by Bill Hudzik, W2UDT, on QSLing. Particularly, ways to cut costs of sending cards through the ARRL Outgoing QSL Bureau by taking advantage of our club's affiliated status with the League. 7. KA2MPG showed a video clip made during WW2 by Hallicrafters showing their manufacture of the SCR-299 HF communications vans which were used by the Army Corp of Engineers during the war for communicating in the war zones of Europe and of the South Pacific. Included in the system was a BC-610 transmitter (which one of our club members owned at one time). Rest of meeting was spent ragchewing, drinking coffee and once again enjoying Norma Cohen's delicious banana bread. Meeting was over by 9:30 PM Al Hanzl K2AL Secretary, NPARC
