General Station Information == For the 2A location (Club Stations), usually Governor Livingston High School, we have usually set up a number of stations. Although names like 'Phone Station' or 'CW' station are used, the stations are generally interchangable. Also, we have experimented with having a digital setup (primarily PSK31), set up in conjunction with the 'Phone Station'. The ARRL rules for 2A setups allow two main station and, in addition, a VHF station and a Get On the Air (GOTA) station for new or inactive hams. All station must have a control operator present, appropriate to the operating privileges being used. === Phone Station === The major distinction between the Phone station and CW station is filtering on the transceiver. This is not critical for experienced Field Day operators but can decrease distraction on CW. === CW Station === === VHF Station === The VHF station uses a 3-element beam mounted, if possible, on a tower. The tower also serves as an end-point for other wire antennas. The layout is pictured in a drawing from several years ago. (Need drawing) === GOTA Station === A GOTA station may operate with up to 150 watts but operators and active participants (e.g. loggers) must be new (licensed less than one year) or generally inactive hams. Our GOTA station tends to be simpler than the main stations since operators are usually inexperienced. Here is a GOTA checklist for the 2012 GOTA station setup. == Rules == == Antennas == === Layout === === Installation === === Storage === == Gazebos == === Layout === === Installation === === Storage =
