2013 Auction Specifics

Activity Manager, Paul Wolfmeyer, W2PTP, organized the auction during his first weeks on the job. He created a very useful spreadsheet listing all critical jobs (and the people who agreed to do them). The result was an Auction that clearly displayed this amazing level of organization. Many NPARC members lent both thought and muscle to the project which resulted in an excellent experience for those present.

this is my exchange with ARRL HQ for last year's Auction. As I recall, you sign up for the ad at the League website and they forward to Hudson Div. Once approved, they send you the door prizes and handouts. David, we should probably Wiki this and the CQ info so you, Hillary, Bill and successors will have it at hand each year.

Dear Paul:

We’re pleased to tell you that Director Birmingham has approved the application of the New Providence Amateur Radio Club to hold an ARRL approved hamfest/auction in New Providence, NJ on February 24, 2012.

As part of your agreement in becoming an ARRL-affiliated event, please remember to prominently display the ARRL diamond when promoting the event on web sites, in e-mails, advertisements and all other program material. The ARRL logo can be obtained from www.arrl.org/logos-photos.

Approximately three weeks prior to the event, I will send gift certificates for ARRL publications to be used as door prizes. To order other materials available at low- or no-cost to help represent ARRL membership and Amateur Radio recruitment, including brochures, hanging and standing banners, tabletop displays, table throws, and other giveaways (pens, magnets and stickers), please visit www.arrl.org/shop/Forms-and-Media-Warehouse/. See the attached brochure for more information. For effective coordination of ordering these materials and organizing the ARRL exhibit, you may want to contact your ARRL Division Director or ARRL Section Manager.

Good Luck! We wish you the best for a successful event.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with your hamfest plans.

73,

Gail Iannone
